Product Description

  • Malt vinegar is made by turning malt into beer then turning beer into vinegar. Often included when pickling onions (or other picklable vegetables) malt vinegar is probably best know as the counterpart of salt when seasoning fish and chips. Hence, when asked by your local chippy (not carpenter), whether you want salt and vinegar (usually by them simply saying 'salt and vinegar' with barely a change of intonation suggestive of a question), you automatically reply "little bit of salt, plenty of vinegar." That is the correct response. Other responses may be acceptable. To surmise, this is malt vinegar, your chips will thank you for it.
