Mrs Darlington's Damson Jam

(Code: DARLJAMDAM)

Product Description

  • Damsons. Small purple fruits like tiny plums. Not the sort of fruit you commonly find in supermarkets, but a British classic when it comes to jams. Deep, tangy flavour makes Damson Jam ideal for layering into a sponge cake. It is an "extra jam" which means, for the uninitiated, that it contains more fruit than a "normal" jam. This is a thoroughly British thing. A jame to make you say Damson!
  • The Mrs Darlington's brand started in 1980 with homemade Lemon Curd. A surplus of eggs from the family farm led to Marion Darlington making a batch of lemon curd which she sold door-to-door along with her fresh eggs. Soon after the local Brownie troop were collecting jars and Marion's own daughters were labelling each batch. With such a tangy, tasty curd, demand naturally increased and soon one of the farm buildings was converted for lemon curd production. Then came a range of jams, then chutneys, then more farm buildings were required... Nowadays Mrs Darlington's has an impressive range of jams, curds, marmalades, chutneys, sauces, condiments and much more which can be found in discerning shops worldwide.
