Kilted Sausages (Pigs in Blankets)
Known variously as kilted sausages, pigs in blankets, wrapped sausages, franks in blankets, pigs in skins and kilted soldiers, these meaty hors d'oeuves are chipolata-sized sausages wrapped in bacon. A common accompaniment to Christmas dinner or an elaborate Sunday lunch, pigs in blankets are also regularly served as appetisers or party finger-food. Sausages in bacon are not to be confused with devils in blankets, which are dried fruits wrapped in bacon and, quite frankly, perverse.
