Product Description

  • Known variously as kilted sausages, pigs in blankets, wrapped sausages, franks in blankets, pigs in skins and kilted soldiers, these meaty hors d'oeuves are chipolata-sized sausages wrapped in bacon. A common accompaniment to Christmas dinner or an elaborate Sunday lunch, pigs in blankets are also regularly served as appetisers or party finger-food. Sausages in bacon are not to be confused with devils in blankets, which are dried fruits wrapped in bacon and, quite frankly, perverse.



Chipolatas (pork, water, rusk (wheat flour, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamin, salt, raising agent: ammonium bicarbonate), salt, wheat flour, stabiliser (sodium triphosphate), dextrose, yeast extract, spices, preservative (sodium metabisulphite), flavouring preparation (spice and herb extracts) antioxidant (ascorbic acid), unsmoked streaky bacon (pork, salt, demerara sugar, preservatives (sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite), acidity regulator (sodium bicarbonate), antioxidant (sodium ascorbate)
