Colourful, dusted with starch and shaped like tiny plump children, jelly babies are an iconic Bassett's sweet. Apparently, when Ringo Starr suggested he enjoyed eating them in 1963, the Beatles were repeatedly pelted with them by exuberant fans. They were living the dream.
